The Calm Conversation Is Now Available

Today, August 10, 2026, I’m excited to share something I’ve been working on for a while.

The Calm Conversation is officially available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.

Writing a book wasn’t originally the goal.

The goal was to put into words something I’ve learned through more than 16 years of working in sales, operations, and leadership:

Great selling isn’t about having the perfect comeback or pressuring someone into saying yes. It’s about helping people move from uncertainty to confidence.

Why I Wrote The Calm Conversation

I’ve spent years working with salespeople, leaders, clients, and teams, and I’ve seen how quickly a good conversation can change when an objection comes up.

“It’s too expensive.”

“I need to think about it.”

“I need to talk to my partner.”

“Now isn’t the right time.”

The natural reaction is often to start defending the offer.

We explain more. We justify the price. We reach for another script. We try to overcome the objection as quickly as possible.

But over time, I learned that the objection itself usually isn’t the real problem.

The bigger challenge is understanding what’s creating uncertainty for the buyer.

That changed the way I approached sales conversations.

Instead of asking:

“How do I overcome this objection?”

I started asking:

“What does this person still need to feel confident making a decision?”

That simple shift became the foundation of The Calm Conversation.

Selling Without the Pressure

I’ve never believed that great salespeople need to pressure or manipulate someone into saying yes.

A salesperson’s job isn’t to win an argument.

It’s to understand.

To ask better questions.

To listen carefully.

To help someone work through uncertainty.

And ultimately, to help them make a decision that makes sense for them—even when that decision isn’t immediately yes.

That’s the kind of selling I wanted this book to represent.

What You'll Learn

The Calm Conversation is designed to be practical.

The book explores four important parts of navigating objections:

Diagnose — Understand what is really behind the objection before trying to answer it.

Get Curious — Ask better questions instead of jumping straight into a rebuttal.

Build Confidence — Help buyers work through uncertainty without pressure or manipulation.

Move Forward — Guide the conversation toward a clear next step, even when the answer isn't immediately yes.

More importantly, this isn't about memorizing dozens of clever responses.

Scripts can help. Frameworks can help.

But real sales conversations rarely follow a script.

The goal is to understand the thinking behind the conversation well enough that you can stay calm, curious, and confident when something unexpected happens.

The Idea Behind the Book

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout my career is that confidence matters on both sides of a sales conversation.

The buyer needs confidence in the solution, the decision, and sometimes even themselves.

The salesperson needs enough confidence to slow down, ask another question, and resist the urge to immediately start convincing.

That’s why one idea sits at the heart of this book:

“People don’t buy because they’re convinced. They buy because uncertainty becomes smaller than confidence.”

That idea has shaped how I think about objections, discovery, closing, and sales conversations in general.

This Is Just the Beginning

Publishing The Calm Conversation is an important milestone for me, but I don't see it as the finish line.

I’m continuing to build practical frameworks, tools, and training resources around better sales conversations, stronger leadership, and scalable revenue systems through 10XSALES Training.

There’s a lot more coming.

For now, though, I’m happy to finally be able to say:

The Calm Conversation is published.

If you work in sales, lead a sales team, run a business, or simply want to become more confident navigating objections, I wrote this book for you.
